World Kidney Day (WKD) is on March 13, 2008 - “The purpose of World Kidney Day is to raise awareness about the importance of our kidneys – an amazing organ that plays a crucial role in keeping us alive and well – and to spread the message that kidney disease is common, harmful and treatable.”

… and what better way for this kidney patient to promote awareness than by creating a contest?

Just for fun, my friends Elaine and Sherry went to a wedding show with me, today!

Elaine is also a bride (getting married two weeks after we are) and a Bridesmaid in our wedding. Sherry is a good friend to Ken and me (and also Elaine’s Maid of Honor) - we hope she’ll be able to attend the wedding, too. I can’t believe how much still needs to be done and it seems as though time is flying by. Soon it will be December…

Happy Holidays, Family & Friends!

2007 has been good to us – On June 11^th Krissi received a kidney transplant thanks to her brother, Andrew, who donated one of his. Her kidney has been working great & she’s enjoying life without dialysis.

Ken has been working at Raytheon for nearly 6 years. He’s happy that his new position in the company requires him to travel much less. In his ‘off time’ he plays World of Warcraft (an online game) & takes care of our little family. He’s looking forward (as we all are!) to seeing Mom & Dad Billings in Arizona for Christmas.

Alek turned 7-years-old on July 30^th & began second grade in August. He excels in school & is above his grade-level in reading and spelling. He likes most of his subjects, but prefers gym class. He also began training in Tae Kwon Do & earned his Yellow Belt in November.

Our dogs, Trixie, Sassy & Hunny Bear are as cute as ever. Hunny Bear (being the ‘baby’) is the most spoiled.

Ken & Krissi would like to announce that they have set a wedding date (finally!) Save the date for December 6, 2008 for their wedding which will be held in Ramona, California (near San Diego).
